Once upon a time on a very cold day in December of 1987, Kati Rausch was born in Wilhelmshaven, Lower Saxony, Germany. Kati spent her childhood in the idyllic fisher town Dangast on the North Sea coast, as well as in Paris, Merano, Venice, Chalkidiki, Graz, Berlin-Reinickendorf and Lüchow-Dannenberg... - And wherever the VW-bus took her. "My parents were hippies, before they became civil servants", explains Kati.
Since she has spent most of her childhood in the hippie bus travelling around Europe, Kati speaks today, in addition to their mother tongue German, fluently English, Danish, Finnish and French. Kati has about 27 cousins and cousin, many of which are scattered all over the globe today.
Her acting and comedic training absolved Kati at the "Lee Strasberg" - acting school in Los Angeles and at "L'Ecole Jacque le Coq" in Paris.
"That's not true, but it would have been nice," says Kati.
Besides uncountable roles in graduation film and independent films, the German TV viewers know Kati as actress for her guest appearances on series such as "MEK 8" or "NoBudget" and for numerous music videos, such as "Invictus" of "Heaven Shall Burn" or "Monster, Monster" of "MC Basstard".
"I don't know why I have always to look totally broken or to die in music videos. But I like dramatic and extreme roles..." says Kati to that.
"As a teenager it was always my dream to become an actress, and at some point I realized that I also want to write myself". At the age of 16 Kati began writing comedy texts. A little later, followed gigs in comedy live clubs throughout northern Germany.
Kati's life as a stand-up comedian changed significantly, as she met cabaret artist Ulrich "Urdrü" Reineking in the summer of 2003. After a gig on the the same show in Bremen, he asked her spontaneously, if she wanted to go on tour with him. Of course she said yes!
For a while Kati studied theology and filmscience at the "Carl-von-Ossietzky-Universität" Oldenburg - officially at least.
In fact, she used the time as student and the related student train ticket to tour with Ulrich "Urdrü" Reineking and the virtuoso guitar player Volker Buck to perform different music-comedy shows throughout the country. In addition, Kati played her 90-minute solo show "Ruaschzustand" (Intoxication) on the stages around Germany, In September 2011 she was awarded for it with the "Health Media Award" as "Comedy Newcomer of the Year".
After hosting numerous comedy live shows and music festivals, in early 2012 Kati received the offer, to work as presenter for the online music TV channel "Music Interview Corner". Without hesitation she accepted.
"I always seemed delightful to work internationally and to use my foreign language skills," says Kati. In addition, she has had a special connection to music since her early childhood, because her father was a guitar player and a street musician for a long time: "The first thing I can remember is, that my Daddy played the guitar in the Metro station of Port de Clignancourt (Paris) and I collected coins with a had. I was two or three years old at that time."
Of course, you can notice comedy elements in many of Kati's interviews for "Music Interview Corner". These interviews led Kati again and again to Finland. And after a short time, it was clear for her: "I love Finland, the Finns, and their crazy language!"
Since 2013 Kati is therefore increasingly performing on Finnish comedy stages, and has even moved to Helsinki in May 2014.
